Ode to My Va-J-J: A Pregnant Monologue

Oh, my wonderful Va-j-j, you got me into this mess to begin with.

With an "oooh" and a "ahhh" the damage was done.

Then came the nausea and gas.

Now at 8 months, I can no longer see you, but I know you are there.

Weekly question: to shave or not to shave.

And now that I cannot see you, I have hijacked my husband's electric shaver.

I will not be cutting you up. My death grip on… Continue

Exercising While Pregnant--My Only Sanity!

As a mother, I spend every day looking after everyone else's needs: my husband, my son, my mother, my friends, etc. I don't really take very much time for myself. That is just the way it is, and I'm okay with that. But I do take time out of my day to exercise, which is my only sanity. Especially since I'm pregnant, I need it even more. As the hormones in my body are surging and emotions can flair, the exercise gives me focus and purpose in an… Continue

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Okay, I know. It's Mother's Day and what am I doing cooking, right? Well, my husband got the plague, and our usual festivities had to be altered a bit. How I Lost 100 lbs. Tip #4

I wanted to share with you a very joyous moment. I just got my yellow belt in Tae Bo Kwon, Billy Blank's martial arts interpretation of Tae Kwon Do. He's the only 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do in the United States, and I'm so honored to have the opportunity to study under him, Shellie, and Julieanne. When this picture was taken, I had just finished my test and was high on life.

My name is Leah Segedie and I'm Chief Mom of… Continue

How I Lost 100 lbs. Tip #2

Hi! I'm Redhead Mama, Chief Mom of Operations of Bookieboo. I'm so honored to be able to share my experiences with everyone of how I lost weight and how I am continuing to stay on track.

My second piece of advice is this:

Create Mini-Milestones

If you have a large goal like I did, don't think about it in it's entirety. (This is very important!) The best thing to do is break it up… Continue

How I Lost 100 lbs. Tip #1

Hi! I'm Redhead Mama, Publisher of Bookieboo.

When people find out how much weight I've lost, especially if they did not know me when I was heavier, they look at me in amazement like I've done something impossible. My weight loss and new lifestyle have nothing to do with super human strength. I'm an ordinary stay-at-home mom with a very active toddler boy, whom I named the site after. Everything… Continue
