Marching Onward

The passing of time is a funny thing. Time can’t be stopped, rewound or moved ahead. It can only be viewed from right in this moment from right where you are. As the old saying goes, “time marches on” and all we can do is accept it whether we like it or not. I suppose it’s all about perspective, so all I ask of precious time is that it doesn’t go so fast that I can’t stay in step and that I can march right along without too many rest breaks. Oh, and maybe the marching can be done in a really…

Walkin' the Line

Kids say the darndest things sometimes don’t they?  When I bent down this morning to give Baby Chick a kiss, he informed me that I had a “line on my head”.  You don’t say you darn truth-telling boy.  Yes, there is a line Baby Chick Cash, but you better walk it carefully.  Curses to you Miss Clairol and your empty promises to touch up my roots.  I told him I am turning into a skunk.  As he slowly backed away and glanced at my…

Keep Calm and Trot On

He’s makin’ a list, checkin’ it twice, gonna find out who’s naughty and nice, Mama Finch is losing her mind.  Oh, what is that you say?  That is not how the song goes?  Oooops…Guess my memory transmitters are not what they should be these days. Not Today Keith Not Today

I have always tried to teach my children to put forth their best effort in all their endeavors so the fact that I must admit to not doing so myself is…well…disappointing to say the least.  And admitting that I chose sleep over watching the lovely Keith Urban on TV last night is nothing to sneeze at.  Especially if you know me and my interest in, alright, alright, total obsession with, all things Keith.   Maybe obsession is…

My Life Would Suck Without You

(From http://blendedbeaks.blogspot.com)

Monday morning.  We made it through another weekend.  As I watch Dazey the He-She Cat eat the dog’s food and wonder who has been messing with my laptop settings as the colors are now all funky looking, I am mentally reviewing the weekend (who said I couldn’t multi-task) and two thoughts keep coming to mind:  Kelly Clarkson and the fact that Daddy Owl and I had an accidental date night…
