Happy Halloween from Mike Wozowski (slash baby Ricky Galster)

My adorable babe is was Mike Wozowski for Halloween. Until he decided he hated the hat. Now he’s just baby Ricky again!

Today I did something super positive: I released the hurt that has been haunting me since I was a kid. And I feel amazing for moving beyond them.

If you’re looking for something extra sweet this Halloween, check out some of my fashion finds on CupcakeMag and CupcakeMag Littles from the past couple of weeks:...Continue reading at …

Current Obsession: Minnetonka Moccasins

You may not know it, but I was born and raised {and still live} in Minnesota. And two weekends ago the hubs, little and I were up north in lake country hanging out with my fam. “Up north” is a great place for connecting with nature, spending time with family and surprisingly: shopping for fabulous finds! While walking around the little town we were staying in {a small town of approximately 3,000 residents}, I found myself obsessing over the idea that…

I'm only going to say it once: keep your drama to yourself.

It’s been one of those weeks where I’m about ready to scream. And it’s only Tuesday. While I wouldn’t normally do this on my blog, I’ve become increasingly frustrated with all of the drama that’s been brought into my family’s life. Some of it was intentional, some of it wasn’t. And BEFORE this gets taken out of context, this post is not directed at one person – the bottom line is that I’m just not putting up with unnecessary drama from anyone anymore...Continue…

Apparently I've become a DIY Diva. AND I LOVE GLITTER.

It’s Saturday morning afternoon. And because I haven’t actually made it outside of the house or gotten a lot of work done today, I feel like a total slacker. But when I look at things in all reality, I’ve been an uber productive domestic diva. I’ve done two loads of laundry, picked up our entire house (minus my office, that’s a monster to tackle another day…), gotten an hour long barre workout in, showered, gone through half my emails, fully made the bed (for the second time…

Spicy parmesan crusted chicken. Amaze yourself.

My hubby is a little obsessed with Hellman’s mayo. To the point where his favorite snack is Ritz crackers topped with it – and he can eat a full jar in one sitting. Not.Joking. So I wasn’t surprised when we were cruising through Sam’s Club a couple of weeks ago and he told me about a recipe for some chicken concoction he had found using mayo. I didn’t really think much about it again until this afternoon: when I realized we had nearly nothing in our fridge for…

Four weeks old: an instagram photo dump

It’s official: my little man is four weeks old! I can’t believe how fast the last month has gone by. And at the same time, I can’t believe that he’s only been here for four weeks! One of my biggest obsessions over the past four weeks? Instagramming pictures of my sweet little man! Want to keep up with me on Instagram? Just search for @cortneygalster. Current Obsession: Customized Onesies With Matching Leg Warmers

Confession: now that my little man has arrived, I’m absolutely obsessed with shopping for unique pieces to add to his wardrobe. Specifically, I look for things that would be perfect for the holidays – or for his next photo shoot, since he’s pretty much a little GQ model in the making! Anyway, in one of my weekend Etsy hunts I found these awesome customized onesies that come with matching leg…

Losing the baby weight requires more than just exercise

If you’re like me – trying to lose the baby weight, or just trying to lose or maintain your weight in general – there’s one thing that’s just as important (if not more important) to your lifestyle as working out is: and that would be what you eat. Here’s the thing about nutrition and dieting: you can’t just change what you eat for a short period of time and expect to keep the weight off. You have to make a lifestyle change and dedicate yourself to not just working out…

WAHM Guide: Learning to multi-task

One of the basic rules of working from home is to set up your office in a space where you’re not going to be distracted by all of the…distractions in your home. And while that is true, this rule is more so that you can shut out the rest of your house when you need to: the reality is that for at least part of the time when you work from home, you’re going to have to get really good at multi-tasking.

The reasoning for this is two-fold: working from home means you…

Losing the baby weight: Barre workout number one

As of tomorrow, the bean is four weeks old. Which means mama is four weeks post-partum. Aka: I’m ready for my jeans to fit again. And technically, they do. Well, if you don’t could that muffin top and all.

Regardless of how you have a baby, you need to do some ab work to get your tummy back in whatever shape it was in prior to getting pregnant. Having a c-section increases that need for tummy toning exponentially. And since I didn’t have the greatest ab workout…

Current Obsession: Jeweled Headbands

Being a new mom, one thing I really lack time for these days is styling my hair. And being the girl that doesn’t want to go completely unstyled on a daily basis, I’ve quickly caught on to one of the hottest hair trends in Hollywood: jeweled headbands! The beauty of this accessory is that not only are they gorgeous when paired with cocktail attire, they’re an easy way to add some zing to an…

Crock Pot Steak Chili Recipe

Chili and fall are pretty synonymous. But my hubby likes something more than just your average chili: he loves steak chili! And I have to admit: it’s way more delish than regular chili. Since I’m all about cooking with ease – and making meals that have melt-in-your-mouth qualities – this is yet another make in your crock pot meal that you’re going to love. LOVE. Looooooooove....Continue reading at …

Cold season makes me crabby. But McDonald's coffee makes me happy.

Between a sick hubby, a fussy (and borderline sick) baby and the nagging feeling that I’m coming down with the same cold that Rick has…well, you could say I haven’t slept too much in the last couple of days. Which basically means my head is a little non-sensical today. So bear with me – I’ll try to stay as coherent as possible. And I’ll just apologize in advance if my jumbled thoughts make absolutely no sense at all…

1. We came home from the lake on Sunday and my…

A weekend at the cabin with the baby.

This weekend Ricky and I took the babe up north to get away from the city and relax with some of my family for a few days. Yes, I realize that it sounds odd: if you’re not from Minnesota, you might be scratching your head and wondering how much further north we could possibly go for a weekend. But “up north” is a term that nearly everyone here in the frozen tundra uses for heading up to lake country – aka God’s country. No matter what part of up north you’re headed to, it’s…

How I Became Mrs. Galster: Chapter Eighteen

And then…the waiting for baby game began.

For about a week, we went back and forth on what to do about our wedding. While we had planned to starttrying to get pregnant, we honestly hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly. Hence the original plan to elope on a Caribbean island in April. I sat there realizing that since it was January, April was quite a ways away – and…

Beer Bread: One of my favorite fall foods

One of my favorite things about fall is baking. And while I’m usually whipping up thins that have a little sweetness to them, I do enjoy making something a little heartier – something that can actually be served with a meal as opposed to before or after dinner! Enter: beer bread. It’s delicious simplicity puts a smile on my face. And my hubby’s too – if you can’t tell from the picture, he ate darn near the entire batch that I made the other night within about fifteen minutes.…

WAHM Guide: Social Networking is Essential

There’s one big piece of becoming a WAHM that tends to get overlooked – and that would be social networking. Baby Ricky's Birth Story: Part Three

Once my belly was sewn up, I finally got to hold my little man. He was perfect – absolutely, positively perfect.

They wheeled me, the baby and Ricky back upstairs. Ok, in reality Ricky walked. But you get the idea.

And then…well, we were parents. The first three nights of parenthood were spent in the hospital. Unfortunately, my darling hubby had not slept for about two days prior to my c-section. Which basically meant that unless little RIcky was screaming his lungs out in the…

Five things no one tells you about your post-pregnancy body

So all throughout your pregnancy, you sit around and think about what your baby is going to look like. You read about how to prepare yourself for labor and delivery and how to take care of your newborn child once they actually arrive. The big day comes, you have your little bean and can’t stop staring into his face. Slowly, as you come out of your baby coma, you realize that there are things going on with your body that no one warned you about. Things that, despite all of your…
