Ask The Mamas: Does Your Child Do This Too?

Ok, this is slightly embarrassing, but this is the reality of parenthood, right?

At 19 months, my sweet little baby turned toddler has just recently discovered his down south region.

A few days ago, I walked into the living room to find him sitting on

and grinding his sit 'n spin. Then yesterday when grandma and grandpa

were visiting, he grabbed his blankly, sat down on…

Kids Are Amazing: What Has Your Child Done Lately?

Hunter is 16 months old now, and I'm simply amazed at how fast he's growing, learning, doing.

No longer does my little man wake up crying. He now sits up and carries on baby babble conversations with his favorite cushy -soft stuffed animal, Winnie the Pooh. This morning I decided to hang out in bed to listen to him for a few extra minutes. I was shocked, to say the least. Out of his mouth, clear as day, came "Winnie the… Continue

Battle of the Brands: Part II (Formula debate)

Battle of the Brands: Part II

A little over a month ago, I wrote a post on how baby formula was equivalent to brand name formulas such as Similac and Enfamil. When Hunter came into this world, I was torn between what the doctors, nurses, and friends were telling me what I should do, and what was right for me. When it was all said and done, I went down the formula path, and in the end It was the perfect choice. You can read that post… Continue

Patient Style Website Review

As a mom of a soon-to-be 16 month old, I can recall Hunter's birth and hospital stay like it was yesterday. I remember how unbelievably amazing, fascinating and scary the experience was. Family was gathered in anticipation to see the newest addition to the family. Family equipped with lots of cameras.

I can remember how unbelievably gross I felt before and after giving birth. I'm not vain, but I'm not that girl that doesn't give a damn… Continue

Before You Vaccinate

I had been gung ho about vaccinating my son. I've been terrified after reading/hearing about numerous deaths associated with H1N1 that I've become, like so many other mothers, extremely frusterated with our system for taking so long to begin manufacturing these ever so important H1N1 vaccinations. But how safe are they? After watching this video with Dr. Manny and DIedre Imus, I must confess-I came to agree with much of what she was saying. The… Continue

Today's Special: Breast Milk Cupcakes

Cupcakes are yummy, right? Just thinking about them makes my mouth water. That sugary sweet cake-y goodness that seems to melt in your mouth.

Well, what would you say if I handed you a cupcake and told you it was made with breast milk. Would you eat it then?

Ok, I'm a mom. I tried the breastfeeding thing for a whole, oh, two weeks. Yeah, it didn't last long. Even though it didn't pan out for this momma, I still highly admire those who do nurse. And who do it for a long… Continue
