She wants to see things.
Her hungry eyes look around searching for life.
She wants to see the world she has never seen before;
the hands she will shake;
the sea she wil swim in;
the ice creams she will eat and will make her clothes dirty;
the dogs she will cuddle.
She wants to see the countries…Continue

Everytime we step out for our little neighborhood walks, me and Princess Giulia hear voices coming from either the end of the street or the corner of the square asking;
"Is she sleeping?"
And my answer is pretty much always the same:
"Yes. She is".
Bar tender: "Is she sleeping?"

Since we have been back home, baby Giulia have been welcome and coddled by the all neighborhood's community.
Everybody is unbelievably happy because she's the first newborn in many years.
You must know that Trastevere is a very special neighborhood: the people who live here really feel like somehow belonging to the same family.
Which means that before her…Continue

Once upon a time,
not so long ago,
a little Roman princess was born in a small family with two dogs and a lot closets full of high heels shoes.
She was kind of happy when she found out that her brand new family was a real mess.
They had a lot to learn about her.
So did she about them, anyway.

me and Hubby got really well organized.
Bassinet, humidified towels, little shoes, socks...
Everything seemed to be perfectly under control.
Being two completely inexperienced parents, we thought that we were pretty smart after all.
We kind of had…Continue

During my pregnancy Hubby would always remind me to have some sweet music on.
He believed to those who say that babies, after their birth, can recognize the music that they have been listening to, when they were living into the belly.
I was skeptical about it.

When people say that Treatevere is a peculiar Roman neighborhood...well... you better believe it.
All our cross street is deeply sharing our last week of pregnancy and everybody is waiting for Baby Giulia's birth.
Even during our yesterday's breakfast at the bar downstairs...

Some of you have probably read on my FaceBook Page that I am completely going crazy about new born babies shoes.
What could you expect from somebody like me that has Italian blood in her veins and writes on a blog called "MiR. First and only rule: never give up on high heels", uh?!
Anyway, as far as practical…Continue

Husband and MiR (Mom in Rome) in bed right before sleeping.
Husband: " Did you realize that baby Giulia will be born on June 16, the same day as Massimo?"
For those few ladies who haven't been reached by Massimo's fame (weird thing by the way), I must explain that not only he's one of Husband's best friends....but more than that, he's the most active…Continue

It's not like I have an appointment or something.
Or maybe yes, I do.
Last week me and Husband went to the gynecologist.
She set the date.
For medical reasons I will end up having a c-section.
Which means that we have a day scheduled.
Baby Julia will be born by June 16th.

- For 4 people -
As I promised, here we go with the first Italian recipe.
You ladies better follow step by step and let me know how it goes. Ok?
The main thing to learn is the concept of "soffritto".
The soffritto is the base of 80% of Italian recipes...so you better get it right since the first time!!

Yesterday afternoon I decided to go for my
I knew it would be hard.
I knew it may be frustrating.
I was pretty sure that I was gonna fail.
But I told myself:
“I have to give it a try.
I am strong enough.
I can make it.
I can’t give up like this”.

Last saturday morning I went downstairs to walk little dog Cicco (pronunciation: Cheekko).
I normally just go around the block during these last weeks of pregnancy.
The heat is too much for me to walk a lot.
My belly is heavy and I easily get out of breath.
we started by walking along the church downstairs:…Continue
