I know people have been worried but we needed a day to ourselves today. Please be patient as we adjust to what is going on. Continue
Jude has good hours and bad hours. Fortunately last night he had a very good hour. He was very smiley and looked much more like himself. His respiratory and heart rate was still high but he was much better than the day before. Here is a great shot of how he looked and how responsive he was to me. …

Some people may not consider themselves hero's, but in others eyes they most certainley are. Rich at http://www.theperfectfocus.com/ is one of this people! Not only is Rich a champion for spreading awareness about Canine Companions, but he is a symbol to all to not be limited by disabilities. Rich is sight impaired yet he is an amazing photographer, a Judo instructor, and a friend to many people including my little Jude. We have never met Rich personally, but he takes the time to follow… Continue

According to Mike Jude seems to be doing better today. He seemed to revert back to his old feeding schedule last night after his seizure, because he woke at 4am hungry. Mike grumbled, and then slowly got out of bed to feed Jude 6 ounces.
So my poor Hubby has to check into the nursing home with Jude tonight to finish qualifying for the MDCP. This is the program that the state of Tx offers medically dependent children. It based off the child's "income" not the parents, which means… Continue

Yesterday seemed to start a hero theme, so I thought I would proceed with another blog I would like you to visit.
Awhile ago when I was pregnant with Jude I was a member of the Just Mommies website. We all talked and shared our stories in different "due date clubs". I, being my nosey self would hunt through other groups including those of moms who were further along than me. One day I came across Liz Logelin. I never personally chatted with her, but I peeked in at what was going on… Continue

Forgive my grumpy attitude yesterday I was a bit overwhelmed. My hubby has promised to be nice to me today, and stop by and see me later.
After my rough day everything finally seemed to fall into place last night. I was determined to get home and just appreciate my kids. Jude was still having small spasms, and I believe that is causing his lack of eating. He has some blood work today, and he will see the doctor on Monday. I know he will increase the Depakene in hopes it will… Continue

"We are all just an accident, a tumor, or a bad investment from standing in line for free soup", believe it or not I got that quote from Desperate Housewives. Yes, I am a victim to the drama on Wysteria Lane, but you have to admit that is a good quote! My cousin recently had a revelation that some of the people surrounding her are a bit pretentious. We probably all float through life at some point thinking tragedy cannot touch our lives. We feel for those that tragedy has stuck, but we never… Continue

It's mothers day. I woke up early at about 7am, and couldn't go back to sleep. Jude woke up right after me so I fed him, and then we lay in bed while he stared at me and smiled. It was a nice beginning to the day. Jude, and I stayed up together for about two hours while Mike slept......yeah yeah he slept on mothers day...ha. It's okay though because I was awake anyway, and really enjoyed my quiet time with Jude. He was very smiley today, and was trying to communicate with me. If I placed him… Continue

I think I spoke to soon on the medication. Jude spent most of yesterday asleep, which made me worry the medication was to much to soon. I called the doctor, and he approved cutting back to 2,1,2. Jude was wide awake this morning so I hope he will be more awake this morning. He was rather comical when I picked him up out of his bassinet. He was so excited to see me he kept smiling, but so hungry he would stick out his bottom lip too. I hated leaving him this morning, but since it's Friday I know… Continue

My blog is under construction today so please bear with me. You will see changes going on throughout the morning.
Anyway, it was an eventful weekend. Friday night Emily, and I sat making a basket full of purple and blue ribbons attached to childhood stroke information sheets. Emily was very proud of all the ribbons once we had completed them, and she seemed very geared up to spread the message. Saturday Em and I woke up at 7:30 to walk the neighborhood, and hand ribbons for… Continue

We have had a very lazy Sunday, and it's been great. I say lazy, but we were up early to feed Jude, I went and fed my cousins dogs, made lunch, did dishes, and washed clothes. The reason today still classifies as lazy is because I took a nap in the middle of the day, which was greatness! Jude is still having some small spasms which results in twitches, and rapid eye movement. It's concerning, but he seems to ride through the seizure activity okay. I learned that his doctor appt had to be… Continue

Last night I raced home from work to relive Mike of baby duty so he could go give a few roof and paint estimates to people. I loaded Em, and Jude in the car and we went to get some groceries. My house was beginning to resemble Old Mother Hubbards Cupboards! When we got there I reached into the back seat to lift Jude's car seat out. I guess I opened my mouth when I lifted the seat because the next sound out of my body was a yelp of pain. My jaw suddenly locked in place, and there was sharp… Continue
