I have been suffering with pain in my joints (on my right foot, ankle and fingers) for ten days now. I went to the doctor (after much research) and thought, for sure, I'd get some help for Gout. To my surprise, the doctor caughed it up to a "stress fracture". He pulled, pushed and stretched my foot till there was nothing left. He gave me a shot of pain reliever and anti-inflammitory (sorry- so dizzy and frustrated, if I sound confusing- bare with me please).
I just don't know what to do anymore. I have been keeping my foot up for almost 10 days now. The pain is still insane, but the swelling looked like it was starting to subside quite a bit. I finally got up to clean my house (it was getting upsetting for me to see hairballs on the floor); I cleaned the toilets and vacuumed the floor (with my girls help). I felt my feet start burning after about 20 minutes, looked down and bam- no ankles or toes anymore (again). My foot, in a very short period of time, swelled to what it looked like 10 days ago. What's worse, I'm retaining so much water at the top of my right foot that when you push a finger in for a moment, the indention stays for over 32 seconds...actually, the water retention has been there for the entirety, but I really felt like it was getting better (wrong!)
Does anyone have any idea what I should do? My husband doesn't think I need to see a doctor (emergency wise) just yet.
About me (if this will help a little): I'm 36, type 1 diabetic (no meds yet), Stage 3 Cronic Kidney Disease and I weigh 148lbs, I'm 5'7" and...well, that's about it.
Does anyone have any answers, I feel an ergency to see a doctor, but at the same time- I'm just not sure...Because my doctor didn't listen to me and gave me some other diagnosis, I don't think I'll be going back to him again. :(
