Over the past year, I have noticed that mom blogging has evolved. This is great because it means that it is something that we enjoy doing and may keep doing for years to come.

Here are 10 trends that I have noticed in 2008

1. We blog about things besides our family.
2. Random ideas, that you would talk about to your gal pals, are often a blogging topic.
3. We network- Mom Bloggers Club, Facebook, etc.
4. Blogger seems to be the most popular platform used, although, many of us enjoy WordPress.
5. Many of us are beyond the basic Blogger templates. We often use upgraded or custom templates.
6. Many of us like to display our blog button/badge - the 125X125 image that we have created and identifies us.
7. Some of us like to trade buttons/badges with others to display on our sites.
8. We often meet elsewhere- such as on Twitter.
9. Blogging moms come from all over the world.
10. We have manners. We leave nice comments and do not diss on one another in our posts.

I love #10. I would never want to crash down on a fellow blogger... as we were taught young "do on to other, as you would want on you"

Great list. Regarding #10, I am opinionated and don't apologize for my writing, but I believe in respecting each other. I think we all believe in being nice to each other and supporting each other. Becoming a mommy blogger (DagmarBleasdale.com) has been great; it is very rewarding to connect with other moms and read what they are up to.

Very good observations. Love #10! And I really like how mom blogs share resources: from cutting down on costs to eating healthier foods to parenting teens. Lots of great, innovative moms out in the blog world.

Great post - I love your number 1 - it's what brings us all together but then, we get to know each other beyond that common denominator.

Fascinating list! From what I've observed, I'd have to say it's spot on! Thanks!

I love #10. I *try* and live by the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it" sometimes I just accept blog posts that I don't agree with. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'd rather keep my commments to myself than offend or hurt someone's feelings. As for being "real"....well, that's how I am. I don't want to make anyone unhappy.
