12 Days of Shopping with Pragmatic Mom - Great Gift Ideas for those tough to buy for people!

I am rarely quiet – no, really, except when I’m writing – but especially about gifts and while I do like to share – my children now pipe up when the iPad ad comes on “Mom, Isn’t that what you want for Christmas?” – I had never said so, maybe just hinted and I am encouraging the shout-outs at this point (so useful, for work, right).

capability mom likes the apple ipadI am super easy to buy for – my husband is not but he makes up for it by being a super creative gift giver. For instance, this past Mother’s Day, I got laundry baskets. Yup, three of them with easy to read stick on labels for easy sorting. I know, you are thinking, what a lucky, lucky woman. I did initially have that really fake Laura Petrie voice (link for you babies who don’t know who this is, ignore the talking fish, not really part of the show), “Oh, how nice, REALLY?” but in a sweet way because the children were there. I think everyone (else) enjoyed my confusion and POLITENESS because when I finally saw the card with theatre tickets (to Wicked – it was wonderful), there was much laughing, yes, especially by me.

Maybe I want some new Smartwool socks (oops, already bought some), maybe some winter walking shoes (we can get matching ones at REI capability mom is going to copy her friend and get the same shoes from solomoncapability mom might buys these at REI for spouse.

Not so creative? I always like books, real ones or ebooks for my Kobo e-reader - we may need that iPad because we are fighting over need another e-reader.

I have Bogs boots for the snow - I like these from Hunter, too.

I also really want nice boots (size 10) – I think I found some cute ones.

I meant to put these plates in the Hostess post but I do like them for myself – Found on Etsy through Cool Mom Picks (see sidebar).

capability mom loves this green leaf in these hope johnson ceramic plates on etsySo it’s not all about me – although it is tough – He will usually buy his own stuff.

Husband Gift Ideas:

Running stuff (UnderArmour gear) Cold weather gear from REI – Books, Special Roibos tea, Giants (as in New York) gear, J. Crew Shirt, load his iPod with some tunes. In the past we have given him baseball gloves (for our children), Rock’em Sock’em Robots, and other games from his childhood. Hope this helps!
