I tried to start a discussion the other day about Squidoo. Yes, I know the name is awful but it gets a lot of traffic and Google loves it. The offer a service that allows you to create one page websites with lots of interactive features. My post didn't peak anyone's interest so I'm mentioning it here.

Their catch is that pages that have lots of features and link to lots of other pages rank higher than others. I've been experimenting with building out some pages and having some success. Each time I add a page, my rankings get higher. It is a lot like a Group here actually but more interactive.

I recently added a page which does little more than republish our blog's RSS feed. It was fast and easy and has actually gotten some traffic. Since it was so simple (and free), I am hoping that others will be interested as well so I created a group for blog owners. Seems like the easiest and cheapest way to self promote.

Although most of my pages are a work in progress, I am listing them here in case anyone is interested.
Groups:
Blog Club Group
Modern Stationery Group
Pages (lenses)
Photo Cards
Wedding Stationery
Holiday Cards
Birth Announcements
Valentine's Day Cards

Hmm...great thinking! I'll create a page and then we can brainstorm about a group, etc. I'm all about getting a better Google PR so I'm all for it.

There are a bunch of mom bloggers there that may not be members here. I typed in WAHM in search and got 512 hits!
However, if just 30 or 40 MBC members added pages, interlinked and joined a group you create...it could be huge for everyone's rankings in Google. I see no downside to everyone jumping aboard.

I also don't know how to spell "things" :)

Cool. I'll work on mine this weekend. We can exchange links.

We created a page about a year ago and abandoned it. Without any effort it made it to PR2 with almost no traffic. I just recently started playing with it and have found the site to be very seo friendly if you take some initiative.

Thinks I like:
They allow external keyword text links
Every keyword "Tag" you add provides an inbound link using that word(s)
Easy to create new pages that immediately "boost" the ranking of your other pages
Accept RSS feeds...very simple way to add a new page with content that changes frequently
You can create a "Group" at any time which also boosts your ranking automatically

Once some time has been spent getting yourself up and running, there is little maintenance required.

Note: New pages always have no-follow tags applied to all links for 24 hours.

I'll be happy to provide links to your page from all of mine:)

I have a page about mom blogging that I have let sit idle for about two years. Maybe I'll actually go and build it. When I do I'll join your group. Thanks for mentioning it.
