Several years ago I attended a small women’s conference.  One of the women told of her favorite quiet place in her home where she sat and had her time with The Lord.  She told of how she had made it into a cozy nook  where she could go to pray, glean from Gods word and just talk to Him.  She has a gift for decorating so as she spoke I could imagine a beautiful spot that I could almost feel.  I of course came home and searched for my place.  In my mind it was a beautiful chair that the sun would shine on just right.  In the reality of my small home it was in fact our recliner.  It wasn’t pretty, but God met me there faithfully, because God is great like that to meet us where we are.  He would share with me from His word and help me to see what He wanted for my life.  I tell you this to tell you that God knows our heart and hears us even in the little details.  When I bought new living room furniture a couple of years ago I had my heart set on what I would refer to as my meeting Jesus chair, but as budgets go mine could not afford such a chair at the time.  I continued my quiet moments in our recliner.  A few weeks ago I was walking into a jewelry store to get a battery for my watch when I noticed a used furniture store and decided to go in.  To my excitement there by the front door was my chair.  My heart jumped with excitement as I called my rural man to tell him of my find.  I quickly made a spot for the chair.  This morning as I set holding one of my girls the sun was just creeping up to smile on us.  My heart and mind went to how thankful I am not only for my chair but for a God who has a timing that is beyond any other.  The devotion book that I have been doing this year is so appropriately titled “Jesus Calling”. ” I leave you today with the thought that “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” Proverbs 37:4.
