Sometimes touring the city with your tykes in tow simply isn’t in the cards; naptime, lunchtime of meltdowns anytime can make seeing the sights a challenge you just don’t feel like undertaking right before the weekend. Luckily for you, the Chicago for Kids Audio Tour allows your babes to explore the Windy City without straying beyond your home office.

(Additional) Trinity Academy of Irish Dance Open Houses
If you’re trying to decide whether your crew prefers learning jigs to juggling lessons, err on the safe side and attend an open house of the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance at various locations throughout the Chicagoland area. Open houses run until October 19, so you have no excuse not to get your Irish on well in advance of St. Patrick’s Day.

FamilyDance Matinee: NAMAH & ZARBANG
Ready to take in a little Middle Eastern movement? Visit the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago for FamilyDance Matinee: NAMAH & ZARBANG, which weaves “together the ethereal beauty of Persian dance with the physically charged and intuitive power of . . . contemporary style,” complete with a four-member Iranian percussion and woodwind ensemble.

Part of the Chicago Architectural Foundation’s CAFamily Studio Sundays, this event encourages your brood to explore building, construction and the art of architecture within Chi-Town.
