Safety Tips to Prevent Your Dream Pool from Becoming a Nightmare

Whether it’s a cosy hot tub, a full-sized pool or something in between, having a private place to take a dip at home is one of life’s greatest luxuries. There is little that compares to shrugging off the day’s troubles with a few relaxing laps or a good book and the gentle massage of…

Who decides when miracle days fall from the sky?....

How does this happen, and who decides when this happens? Is it the parenting Gods/Goddesses? Is it as simple as a good night of sleep for all of us on the same night?

We had such a rough day on Sunday. We were cooped up in extra cold weather. READ: 8 - 24 degrees! Well beyond the "they're boys bundle them up and throw them out" advice. Plus that means that I'm out there too....NOT! They were tired of their toys, we were tired of tap dancing to keep them entertained. You know, puzzles for 15 minutes, coloring for 15 minutes, reading for 20 minutes, keeping themselves entertained for 30 minutes....and so the day goes.

Yesterday morning was pure magic. They both woke up in great moods, and when I say great, great isn't a big enough word for how happy they were. Believe it or not, it stayed like that all day. When I asked them to do something I heard "yes mommy"! What?! Every single time all day long! Our 2 year old actually napped for 2 hours. Let me tell you what a rare day that is. When our 3 year old stopped napping, so did he. How could he nap when his idle was up and about?

I'm hoping to order up one of these days again today. I'll keep my fingers crossed, light incense and candles, and pray to the parenting Gods/Goddesses that today will be fun and smooth too. Maybe tonight I won't go to bed worrying what I could have done better! Maybe all of the "good behavior" techniques that we've implemented are paying off!

Granted the bad days are fewer and farther in between as they get older. Teething is behind us and communication skills have arrived in full force. However when the days are bad they're bad and when the days are good they're awesome!

I hear my litte one now....I hope the candles and prayers are at work for another extra sparkling day!
