Is Gambling a Man's Thing? We Dare to Disagree

To be a professional gambler, you need to be a man - at least this is what many media outlets and society as a whole are trying to tell us. It's so critical right now to cut costs. I've been meal planning and bargain shopping at the supermarket. I'm finding that we're eating a lot of Mexican-style food because it's inexpensive, filling, and can be quite nutitious when adding lots of fresh tomatoes and lettuce. I'm seriously trying to cut down on my visits to Starbucks...it's my weakness, but at over $4 a cup, that adds up (5 days a week X 52 weeks = ~$1,100/year). I also make only purposeful trips to the store to avoid impulse purchases and the "Mommy, can I have...?" purchases. Planning my errands also helps to cut down on gas costs. It's all a conscious challenge, but one that I'm finding to be quite effective on my checkbook!
