Some days it doesn’t pay to get out of bed

This past weekend was not fun. It was a three-day homework fest. I won’t go into a lot of details, but let’s just say WK has some school issues and we are working with his teachers to help him get and stay on track. It isn’t a new development; it has been one we’ve struggled with for his entire time in school.

We have, thanks to some forward thinking professionals, now have some ammunition at our disposal that promises to be useful in the coming months. But, until all that kicks in, we’re playing catch up. The teachers WK has this year are being very supportive, so that has been both a welcomed change and another frustration. Why has that taken so long?

For years we’ve been trying to get teachers and school administrators to understand that just because a student has a hard time staying on task or staying focused, doesn’t make him or her a bad kid.
