I breastfed both of my girls until the two and when they hit 2-years-old, I just stopped giving them my breast. I didn't ease into it...just stopped. A few times they got cranky over it, but guess what...after a bout a week it's as if they never breastfed at all. It's really amazing. One moment they can't live without breast milk and the next they could care less about breastfeeding.

And by the way, it was harder for me to let go than it was for my girls. I loved the bonding time, but it was time to move on to another phase of life.

Hope this helps.
