Safety Tips to Prevent Your Dream Pool from Becoming a Nightmare

Whether it’s a cosy hot tub, a full-sized pool or something in between, having a private place to take a dip at home is one of life’s greatest luxuries. There is little that compares to shrugging off the day’s troubles with a few relaxing laps or a good book and the gentle massage of…

OUR DAILY PINS

Gee, thanks to everyone who has so warmly welcomed me to the blogging world! You are all very gracious and I am excited about sharing on here.

I'll start off with a little about myself and my daughter.

I am a single mother (though I am in a serious relationship with a guy who has a son). I work as a teacher at a middle school here in Ohio. I love Ohio (HUGE BUCKEYE fan), but I hate the cold weather. I enjoy watching my daughter play whatever sport she is playing at the time, and I enjoy watching my boyfriend's son play baseball (he's very good). I like to be outdoors in the summer and do outdoorsy things. I enjoy walking, riding bikes, swimming, etc... I really enjoy reading and love Nicholas Sparks and James Patterson novels. I'm sure I could easily get into other authors if anyone has a suggestion.

My daughter is 11. She just had a birthday last week and it seems as though these 11 years have gone by way more quickly than the nine months she was in utero! I could swear she was just crawling yesterday! She is a typical 11-year-old girl. She had intense mood swings and gets mouthy, I have to set her straight from time to time. Being a teacher, I see a lot of kids and am grateful that mine isn't like that! LOL When she was four, she was diagnosed with diabetes. That is going to be the death of me! She does really well at not cheating and all, but she is not the most organized person in all the world, so she "forgets" quite a bit of the time. This causes me to stress. AHHHH! I just wish she could zip the zipper on her backpack so that she wouldn't lose things! Is that asking too much?!?!?!

Anyway, she enjoys being involved in softball, basketball, theatre, and school plays. She loves to sing and dance and I think it's funny to watch her when she thinks no one is looking.

That's us, in a nutshell. Take it or leave it!

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for sharing. My mom is a HUGE James Patterson fan. I'll have to pick up one of his books. Which one do you recommend?
