How to Through A Larger Than Life Small Wedding on a Budget

This one is as simple as crowdfunding your honeymoon. It might sound strange at first, but do you really need another blender or set of dinner plates? Instead of having your guests purchase a bunch of things you’ll end up trying to return anyway, why not let them chip in for…

How Due Date Calculators Can Change Your Pregnancy for the Better

Learning that you are pregnant can be one of the most joyous occasions in a woman’s life. As many of us know pregnancy can happen spontaneously or after much trying.  Regardless of how a woman becomes pregnant, it is vitally important for her to know when she…

I recently found out that my in-laws read my blog.
My husband was over at his dad's house and helped them set-up their new lap top.
He wanted to show them all of the 'fun' things that were out there and he put my blog in their Favorites section.
He shared this thinking it was fun. And that's sweet. Really.
But now I find that when I want to post something about family 'stuff' that REALLY bugs me, I second guess myself.
Now I'm wondering,...should I go forward and tell it as I see fit? Continue to be the real me and let the 'family-function-chips fall where they may'? Or should I start a new blog? (An "Alias"... oooh!)
Has anyone else dealt with this?

i would say to still be you. i had a similar issue on my personal blog with my SIL. She got a nice wake up call about my bro and somethings he has done in life. Maybe if you say something it will make them think.

Being fairly new to blogging, I have thought this very thought. I haven't told anyone about it really, but I also haven't said anything that might offend anyone yet for fear that they may actually ready it. I don't like the idea of being censored, so I may very well have aa AKA blog later on. Thanks for commenting, by the way.

I can totally relate!! My in-laws have recently gotten a computer and called to get my blog addy. They have no pics of me in their house and very few of our daughter. So, when I started adding pics to my blog, they were the least of my worries. I got an e-mail from them commenting on the pics on the blog, with no real reference to the lack of pics of them.

My daughter was also bullied last year in school and I've commented on it on my blog. I don't use any of their names, but often thought how po'ed the parents will be if they read it. There's no way they could deny it's about their kids.

I don't have guilt though. I am who I am and I blog about my life. Sometimes it's interesting and sometimes it's not. However, it's my life!!

Just be you and be honest. Life has a way of sorting itself out!!

I have struggled with this very topic and have in the past chosen not to put anything that I could regret on my blog, but lately I have been thinking about how that isn't fair to me and if I blog about something or someone in my family that makes anyone upset I hope that they can come to me and talk it over.

For me...I am only censored when it comes to my language sometimes. Other than that...I figure this will let everyone get more of a sense of my attitude - if that makes sense? I do have 2 blogs - one for family/friends and then one that is way more personal that only a few have (although I do have it linked on my page so maybe more have it?? LMAO!) The only thing is I only have about 4 "friends" on that page and only "friends" can see my real thoughts and others just get to read certain entries. Maybe you could do that?

OMG - I totally regret telling my husband, my kids and my family members...I do find myself feeling censored. Wish i could do-over, but I thought they'd be my only readers!!!!!!!

I try to write as if anyone could read my blog, including the people I write about. You could either keep a separate "bitch-blog" or do your bitch'n at MBC or other blog group where it is doubtful they would read.

Be you! I love reading family members' blogs and feel like I've become much closer to them that way.

And it was rather funny going back home to the US last month - everywhere I went, I'd start to tell a story and someone would say, "Oh yeah, I read that on your blog." Nothing more to be said!

I do make sure not to make rude comments about identified people unless I'm absolutely positive they don't read my blog . . .

I haven't dealt with this only because I assume everyone is reading (although of course that's not true). I'm not going to lose my job like dooce, or have a family member mad. So I speak my mind, but aware that anyone could be listening.
