Follow up from my camping blogs..www.mykidsregistry.blogspot.com
So the camp thing...I think I will take him to the sport zone today. If camp doesn't approve of the idea when I call them, then we are off to the beach.
O.K. on a mompreneur level, I have been so consumed with B's camp life and new medical information that I have been neglectful of my business.
I am excited about some of the changes I just made to the website but realize it is a roll of the dice whether or not my members will embrace the changes.
Social networking is a fun, modern way to communicate with people you know and don't know. I have dabbled on My space, Facebook and a few of the parenting sites but the feeling of comfort and privacy was lacking when it came time to my kids.
Initially, www.mykidsregistry.com had an open browse page. A member would sign on and view everyone on line or off line.
For months, I kept the browse page live but always contemplated removing it for privacy purposes and take away the "community" feeling and making it more of a service.
Two days ago I announced the removal of the browse page and I have not heard any complaints. A person will be able to view a profile ONLY IF YOU KNOW THEM. A guest to the website must know your sign on name.
We also added the MYKID GIVES page, MYKIDS Upromise College Savings, MYKIDS links/shopping.
It's such a roll of the dice when you create business. You need to keep you mind in a positive mind set or you can easily get sucked into failure.
I love the website and know many parents out there will as well. Just have to get them informed. Network, Network, Network.
Call people, emails go unanswered, keep at it. Watch the Donny Deutch show for more information. I swear that show is like on big infomercial. It gets you sucked in and you walk away saying "YUP, that's me...I am going to make my 1st million just like she did".
Do I want extreme wealth??? No not really. I think like everyone in today's world we want comfort and a financial ease to life.
I want to be a role model for my kids. I want them to be entrepreneurs. I think it would be wonderful if they could be their own bosses and be happy.
As in Nemo....just keep swimming...just keep swimming! I've got my fins on and goggles ready!!!
