A Family that plays together gets sick together

Finally back to our humble home, after eleven days of vacation, 100$ in over the counter medications, a sick baby girl, and a more sickly mommy and daddy.

I am just now opening my laptop after two weeks or more of being closed, because I now feel as though I am not going to suffocate on my own swollen tonsils after being hit hard with Strep Throat.  I swear that stuff hits an adult way worse than it does a kid, because after my ibuprofen I sure did not feel like dressing in my pretty clothes our strutting in my heels. I don’t see where children find the energy or the motivation to continue moving, or live, while they are sick, I could barely swallow to hydrate myself. Kudos kid, kudos!

Now that we are all well and functioning normally, I am back and able to perform again, fingers to keyboard, diligently spelling out what has been missed by you, over the past two weeks.

Over the days of Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day we were back and forth from one dinner plate to the next, then onto one ripped open box at a time. I would have to say the most pleasurable gift was the time and the ability to spend Christmas with our family, although short, the most appreciated.

Over break, we had the opportunity to fly Scott from Nevada sharing Christmas and also the celebration of Scott’s birthday, two events my husband has not had the option of doing since Scott was very young child, due to distance and separation.  Since we could not fly each of Scott’s best buddies in to help him bring in his fourteenth year of life, family helped in celebrating in such ways, as going to Dave & Buster’s, a couple of birthday dinners, then the opportunity to unload a couple of rounds from one of Papa’s guns.  This was time was very special to us all, I know Weston enjoyed each second the most, even though he was sick.

So after my short recap of our Christmas break, I will leave you with a short video of our Christmas morning. It is silent, plus it looks older, because I used my 8mm video recorder app. I also I hope your Christmas was a little less hectic and germy than ours.

Bring on 2013!
