Yesterday was Mother’s Day, a day filled with homemade cards, a bouquet of pink and yellow flowers, and beef brisket. It was a beautiful and unseasonably warm day spent with my family and my mother.

On Friday, I had been asked to write a special Mother’s Day tribute for Adoption.com. I entitled the post Muffins With Mom where I really thought about the one word that could sum up motherhood. When I started writing the post, I wasn’t sure what that one word was. I kept circling around the words ‘sacrifice…exasperation…frustration,’ but I didn’t think that was the tribute they really wanted me to write.
