So... we've gone back and forthon the whole giving the kids an allowance decision.  Typically they will do chores for a little while when they want something badly.  Then they fall out of the habit of doing chores and likewise we fall out of the habit of giving them extra spending cash.

Well... kind of getting tired of all the gimme, gimme, gimmes.  With summer coming on, I'm hoping that maybe we can get into a better routine of chores around the house. I'd love it if they could learn that earning a steady allowance will reward them with a steady allowance and when they want something, they just might have enough saved up for it without having to beg Mom and Dad.  It would also be nice for them to realize how much things cost and how quickly 'only $5.00' adds up to $50.
