AN EPISODE IN THE REALITY SHOW OF OUR MARRIAGE

I've been married to the Cuban for 11 years. So in some ways, I'm an amateur & in other ways, a pro. Banking on the former, I recently decided to pick up a "how-to" marriage book titled, "Every Woman's Marriage." Now my better-whole, Raul, is arguably way ahead of his years in being a good spouse. Me? Not so much. As I dove into this book, I learned I've got some things to learn! One point Shannon (the author) makes is the difference between SHARPENING your spouse & STABBING your spouse. The bible proclaims, "iron sharpens iron," & what God desired was that we'd sharpen each other with encouragement NOT stab each other with judgment. OUCH OUCH OUCH! I need some ice for the virtual whoopin' I just got! It's hard to admit that I've got things to work on with my better whole, like sharpening instead of stabbing. But since we're in this marriage til death parts us, at least I've got time on my side....& lots of grace from the One who put us together.
