Safety Tips to Prevent Your Dream Pool from Becoming a Nightmare

Whether it’s a cosy hot tub, a full-sized pool or something in between, having a private place to take a dip at home is one of life’s greatest luxuries. There is little that compares to shrugging off the day’s troubles with a few relaxing laps or a good book and the gentle massage of…

Whenever I leave the kids with my husband, by the time I come home, the house looks like a tornado went through it. I can’t seem to understand how it gets so messy! And, if I ask my husband what happened and why it’s so messy, his usual response is; “I’ve been busy watching the kids, I haven’t had a chance to clean up yet.” This is after watching the kids after only 1 hour.

This baffles me even more, because I can spend a whole day with the kids, all the while do laundry, wash the dishes, empty the dishwasher, change diapers, give baths, feed the kids, fold and put the clothes away, bake a cake, nurse the baby, and still keep the house neat and tidy.

So what usually happens when the hubby watches the kids and I come home to a messy house, is that I usually clean up the messy house.

The other day as I walked into the mess in the kitchen/family room area, I had to ask myself; how many times do I need to remind him not to leave his dirty socks in the middle of the living room floor? The baby doesn’t need to be sucking on those! How many more years do you have to live in this house before you learn where the spatula goes? Using your sock to clean up a spill on the floor doesn’t work, especially when you continue to walk in them, leaving marks up and down the kitchen floor. When you spill milk on the counter, sucking it up with your mouth doesn’t make the counter clean!

Sadly, I’ve also learned over time that when the hubby does clean, it’s better if I’m not there to watch. “You can’t use a mop on the kitchen counters! You can’t clean the dishes with the same sponge you used to clean the toilet!”…catch my drift? Is purposely trying to mess with me? Or are all men like this?
