Ahi poke

This is the most popular traditional poke recipe. Surprisingly enough, despite the fact that the poke has been given numerous makeovers around the world, Ahi Poke continues to be the preferred dish for poke lovers. So, if you plan on learning how to make poke at home, you would do well to start with this traditional recipe. For four servings, you will need two pounds fresh tuna cut in cubes, one cup soy sauce, ¾ cup diced green onions, two tablespoons sesame oil and two tablespoons crushed macadamia nuts. Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl and refrigerate it for two hours before serving.

Salmon and avocado poke

To make four servings of this delicious poke, you will need one pound fresh wild salmon, one diced avocado, half a cup diced yellow onion, half a cup sliced scallion greens, half a cup fresh cilantro, half a cup of your preferred caviar, three tablespoons reduced sodium tamari, half a teaspoonSriracha and 2 teaspoons sesame oil. You can serve the poke dish on its own, or you can serve it with a base or brown rice salad. For the salad, you will need top cups of cooked brown rice, two cups of spicy greens two tablespoons of rice vinegar and two tablespoons olive oil. Mix it all together and enjoy a delicious and healthy meal.
