Did ya’ll know that part of my day job involves teaching people all about blogging and social media? Well, it does. Which makes me at least a semi-expert in what you should be doing right now to improve your blog, curate your audience and just generally leave a larger impact on the world wide web. So what does this mean today? Well, it means I’m going to sit here on my couch, eat some Cheez-Its and tell you ten ways to help you do all of the above.
1. Get your own domain. If you’re serious about blogging and you’re not a complete newbie to the industry, then get your own domain. It’s fine to casually blog on a non-self-hosted site like blogger or WordPress, but long term you’re going to have a lot more flexibility by purchasing your own url and hosting.
