Can we be hip, trendy, savvy, yet traditional, classic & old-fashioned? I don't know, but I think it'd be fun to try.Sometimes what's old isn't bad.Take for example, tonight. I walked around the neighborhood with my boys trick-or-treating, getting to know our neighbors & having good ole fashioned face-to-face conversation with them. Do I chalk that up to, "the way things used to be?" Perhaps. But it was also very enjoyable.Reading a non-virtual book? Not as trendy as reading a Kindle. But for me? A classic past time.A
real ice-cream cone made from real ice-cream from a real ice-cream shop? Not as hip as Dippin Dots or those frozen-yogurt trendy places. But oh, SO yum-o, for me!Is there a way to live in the new & still experience the old? I thinkJesus modeled this. He used "hip" parables but often referred back to the Old (fashioned) Testament. If you are OLD or YOUNG, leave a comment, tell me you're thinking.
