Chocolate Banana Green Smoothie {5 Ingredients}

Please, feel free to view the original post on my blog, Mama Chirps :)

I have to post this recipe, mostly for future reference, because it was awesome! Not to mention, it was paleo AND vegan, too. I decided to experiment today and ventured outside of the normal old smoothie box, and came up with a healthy Chocolate Banana Green Smoothie.

Chocolate?! What? Chocolate isn't healthy!

Whoa, whoa. I'm not referring to Hershey's sugar-filled "chocolate" syrup. This recipe calls for 100% cacao powder, which actually isn't too bad for you. In fact, cacao is considered a superfood. Just look at all the benefits:

Sorry I didn't get a picture of the actual smoothie I made. It was a weird greenish brown color anyway.. It tasted much better than it looked. I also don't usually measure anything when I cook, so the amount of each ingredient is a rough guess on my part. Feel free to add more or less of anything according to your preferences.

Chocolate Banana Green Smoothie

1c Fresh Greens (I used spinach)
1/2c-1c of unsweetened Coconut Milk, depending on desired thickness
1 Pre-frozen Banana
1tsp Coconut Oil
1tbsp-2tbsp 100% Unsweetened Cacao Powder

Add the greens & coconut milk to your blender and blend until you have a nice green liquid. I find that blending the greens beforehand works best. Next, throw in the frozen banana, coconut oil, and cacao powder & blend until smooth.

Now go whip out your blender and try it yourself!
