Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie Recipe

I'm not a breakfast person. I generally hate eggs, and usually anything I eat early in the morning disagrees with my tummy. I have found, though, that smoothies work well for me in the morning. Really anytime. Plus they are quick and convenient and give me the energy I need to get from one task to the next. I wanted to share with you my Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie recipe made with almond milk, instead of dairy milk, which is much easier on me. At 294 calories (calculated with Spark Recipes recipe nutrition calculator), its definitely a meal replacement smoothie. You can also double the peanut butter or the banana if you'd like even more of a filler. If the chocolate syrup is a little too indulgent, use 1 tbsp of cocoa powder and a little honey, stevia or agave nectar or no sweetener at all.

Smoothies are also a great way to "doctor up" those disgusting weightloss shakes, like Special K or Slim Fast. Add one to your favorite smoothie recipe, replacing the milk with it for an easy way to add nutrition. This particular recipe works well with the chocolate flavored Special K smoothie drinks.

Ingredients:

  • 3 or 4 small ice cubes
  • 1/2 frozen medium banana
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • 8 oz almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Indulge Enjoy!!!

Speaking of breakfast, what do you guys normally have? Have a good smoothie recipe to share? Post it!
