10 Ways to Spend More Time in Nature

You might dislike nature. It’s the home of mud, bugs, and sunburns. It’s also the home of beautiful views, fresh air, and wonderful fragrances. You might dislike nature, but on the other hand, you might love it. Whatever your feelings about nature, you know you should be…

What To Post About On Your Mom Blog About Your Family’s RV Trip

If you run a mom blog, you should know full well that a family RV trip is far too big of an opportunity to pass up to write about.

In fact, you can probably get multiple posts out of a single RV trip, even if it’s only a quick…

Adorable flower girl dresses to choose from

As the music rises and your guests’ heads start to turn, they’ll be delighted to see the cutest little members of the wedding party start making their way down the aisle.

The tradition…

As I celebrate two glorious years of the joy and pain of being the Mom in the Know, I want to add a bit more depth to this venture I like to call a website. I like to think of this experience as more than a blog. We cover a number of interests and facets of life. We are not limited to the narrow views of the traditional homemaker. Can it be two or three blogs within one blog? Oh the semantics… let’s not delve into that today. Instead, let’s just talk about real life. More to the point, let’s talk about my life.
I seriously have the most random experiences. If it’s crazy, it will find me or it will happen to me. Recently I took my kids to the local water park and low and behold we ran into a large portion of their friends. Yes, that is a good thing, but we also ran into the school principal who was dropping his daughter off with a friend.
Why is that bad you ask?
I was wearing a bikini.
Make a list of the people you don’t want watching you in a bikini and I’d put the principal of my childrens school on it. It’s the plain and simple creepy factor of the situation. At the next advisory and PTA meetings I won’t think about the agenda as much as, “Does he see me in my hoodie or my Gap bikini circa 2009?”
I know… I need to remember he has school agendas, major school issues, the budget, his family and, well, his life on his mind.
I don’t want to hear it. This is the stuff I stress about. Why was I there right then? Why was he there right then? Why in a bikini? Why wasn’t my towel or cover up closer? It’s the random luck I must endure and, as you read, you’ll learn I have the oddest, most random of things happening to me and the family almost every day.
