It is quite normal for everyone to lose a certain amount of hair each day. Some people lose more hair than normal. There are a variety of reasons why people lose an excessive amount of hair. This article will investigate some of the common causes of hair loss.
Genetics

Your genetic make-up is a primary cause of hair loss. The amount of hair loss or baldness you experience is mostly determined before you're even born. Some people have hair follicles that are genetically vulnerable to baldness. Certain hormones interact with these follicles and over time cause them to weaken.

Hormonal problems

Thyroid disease is also a known cause of hair loss. When the thyroid gland becomes under active or under active, your hair may start to fall out. Male or female hormones known as androgens and estrogens can also result in hair loss when they are out of balance. This is usually temporary and stops when the hormones return to balance.

Women who have given birth are also subject to losing their hair. During a pregnancy, high levels of hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. Three months or so after birth, these hormones return to normal levels and cause these hairs to fall out.

There is also what we call DHT (otherwise known as Dihydrotestosterone) that is present mostly in men. There are plenty of ways to deal with this but I found out some dht article by Andrea which actually works by many friends I know.

Improper Hair Care

Hair loss can also be caused by the kind of hair styles that you wear. Tight curlers, braids, cornrows, and hair weaves continuously pull hair follicles. Over time, this can lead to permanent hair loss. Certain chemicals like bleaches, dyes, relaxers, and straighteners may cause your hair to fall out also. Normal use of these chemicals usually doesn't cause any problems, but when they are used too often, it can cause the hair to become weak and break.

Medications

Certain medications are known to cause hair loss in patients. Most people are aware that radiation treatment and chemotherapy may cause your hair to fall out. There are a number of other drugs that cause hair loss. If you are taking medications to treat arthritis, hypertension, heart problems, and depression, you may notice a loss of hair.

Under normal circumstances, hair loss is normal. Some people may experience excessive loss of hair for a variety of reasons like genetics, hormones, and medications. There are a number of treatments available that may slow or completely stop this condition. If you notice that you are losing more hair than normal, your doctor may be able to help.
