It's a weekday and I don't feel like cleaning or cooking... although both of those things need to be done at some point! No, I feel the need to do something fun. Something that I don't really have to set up or tear down. Something that will make me laugh and possibly get in a little exercise at the same time. It's time for a dance party!
I have had multiple occasions when my children look at me as if to say, "what is up with our mother?!" It only last for a few minutes, though, because when it's dance... you can't hold out for too long! Illy has started taking ballet lessons, so her groove usually has something to do with spins, extended limbs, and turns. JD is in this transition phase of wanting to enjoy himself but still look cool, so his movements are usually some form of lunging or jumping or flipping. LJ... now, this boy is another story! He feels the music so intensely that he'll go from jumping, to twisting, to shaking, to stomping his feet and however else the beat moves him! lol! It's truly inspiring.
So, whenever you're in one of those "moods," don't be afraid to put on some beats, gather the kids, and simply let go... everything else can wait for the moment. ;)
