For those just getting started looking for a work from home jobs, you should first decide what kind of work you might be interested in doing. Work from home jobs fall into several main categories for the most part and some may not be a good fit for you or your schedule. Virtual call center jobs are one of the most popular types of work from home jobs and there are many companies who hire for this but most of them require you to commit to a fixed schedule and have a quiet background with no screaming children. Data entry jobs do not require a quiet background but you may still be required to work a certain amount each day. Depending on your current stage in life, if you have young children or if they are school most of the day, think about what would be right for you. When applying for a job check to see the minimum requirements or how much you are expected to work each day or week and any other expectations to see if it will be a good fit. The other main categories of work from home jobs include:

  • Online tutoring
  • Freelance writing

  • Chat operators
  • Forum moderators
