Do You Love Basketball? Want to Spend the Day WIth Your Daughter?

Love Basketball? Wanna Take Center Stage in MSG at Half-Time?

When I was growing up in Westchester, NY in the 60's, my brother was regularly asked by my dad to go see the all-star, championship NBA team, the "New York Knickerbockers" (aka Knicks) play. Yes, those were the days of Walt Frazier, Dave DeBusschere, Earl the Pearl, Willis Reed, Senator Bill Bradley and other "dream-team" players of all time. When my dad would ask my brother, never considering that I would find basketball exciting, I would always say, "Can't I go?" And, after much wining, off I went. I can still vividly remember the thrill of those games.

And now, I have a daughter of my own. A daughter who is tall for her age, and loves to play. A daughter who wrote in 5th grade about the inequity of pay-for-women in sports, specifically citing the average pay for a woman basketball player at 73 cents for every dollar a male basketball player brought in, as well as talking about the our very own inspiring Butterfly Mom, Rebecca Lobo.

And, so, with that, when we recently presented with the opportunity to do something with the WNBA, my first thought was, a "MOTHER/DAUGHTER" night...all my memories came rushing back from when I was a child.

And, so, this week, we're offering our Butterfly Moms the opportunity to WIN FREE TICKETS, WIN an AUTOGRAPHED NY LIBERTY PLAYER ITEM, and join us with Liberty Legend Kym Hampton, CENTER STAGE (COURT SIDE) at HALF TIME AS Bradi and I shout from the rooftops of Madison Square Garden (no kidding) the Butterfly Mission and watch as two of our lovely Butterfly Moms and their empowered daughters take the stage as well.

And, after the contest ends (September 4th), we will be selling discounted tickets for our Butterfly Moms, so that if you are not one of our lucky winners, you can still join us for this Butterfly-inspired event. By the way, Dads and Sons are welcome too!! With your SPECIAL BUTTERFLY TICKET, you will receive a FREE T-SHIRT and popcorn!
