Symptoms to Take Notice of in Children

The NHS has been facing ever-increasing pressures in recent years, with slashed budgets, staff shortages and lack of resources taking its toll on the quality of care. One of the many ways we commonly see the impact of these pressures is in waiting times for GP…

How to Through A Larger Than Life Small Wedding on a Budget

This one is as simple as crowdfunding your honeymoon. It might sound strange at first, but do you really need another blender or set of dinner plates? Instead of having your guests purchase a bunch of things you’ll end up trying to return anyway, why not let them chip in for…

As Valentine's day rapidly approaches, I thought I would share one of my mommy seduction secrets/cheap-decorating tricks with all of you. Back in September when I first started my blogging adventure, I wrote a post called Come On Baby Light My Fake Fire. It got exactly one comment at the time. This was when I had about 5 people (three of them being my husband and both of my parents) reading my blog!

It was about my faux candle votives in our "private sanctuary" also known as mom and dad's room. It is important that you only use fake, battery-operated tea lights for this project -- no open flames here. I made them with juice glasses, some scrapbook paper scraps, and some old decorative photo ledges that were off the family room wall and collecting dust under our bed.

The finished project took me about an hour on one afternoon. It gave our room a whole new look, filled the problem area over our head board, and has provided very nice "mood" lighting. It also happens to be very post-baby-body friendly lighting. As an added plus, the hubby was more than happy to hang the ledges for me when I told him I would be using them to seduce him later.

I've seen these kind of tea-lights everywhere, including Michaels, Walmart, and the Dollar Tree. Who doesn't have a couple of juice glasses, jelly jars, or even some glass jars in their recycling bin that could get a little facelift in time for Valentine's day?! You could use them to set the table and take them upstairs after the kids are in bed.

Happy Valentine's Week!
