Ensure Your Child's Early Reading Success With Free Printable Vowel Word Activities & Songs

As a mom and Preschool teacher, I really wanted to teach my children to read at a young age so they would have a head start in school.

Actually, let me clarify that.

I really wanted to give them the tools to read at a young age so they would have a head start in school.

My preferred method of choice is combining phonics with whole language.

I used this combination for many years, and had much success.

The children in my classroom learned to read and write very successfully.

For me, phonemic awareness is an important early step in learning to read.

So, that's where I thought we could begin!

A short while back, I covered short vowel words in one my blog posts.

Today, I would like to cover long vowels words.

Or, as Rudolf Steiner, founder of the Waldorf schools, likes to call them, the singing sounds!

I've put together a long vowel learning pack that includes printable
long vowel word worksheets, a review worksheet, long vowel song and
song lyrics.

Come check it out at kids learn @ kiboomu daily!

I encourage you to start with the long vowel song.

It will help familiarize your child with long vowel sounds.

Play it for as many times as you like.

After you are done, move on to the printable long vowel worksheets.

These are great introduction to long vowel sounds and support the song very nicely.

If you feel your child is ready, have them complete the review worksheet.

If you feel your child still needs practice, feel free to introduce fun games like Phonics I Spy or a Phonics Scavenger Hunt.

Are you ready to get started?

Better yet, are your children ready?

It's Time To Learn, Laugh, Sing & Grow!
