Excerpt from my "The Enchanted Locket" Novel

The Enchanted Locket

When Olivia Garson moves into an old abandoned house, her life takes a terrifying turn. While renovating her kitchen, she finds a heart shaped locket. Ghosts start to appear; one ghost demanding her departure,
while another ghost begs for her help.

Excerpt

We had a delicious dinner of steak with onions, mashed potatoes, and corn, but I was preoccupied. I was worried that Emma would suddenly show up and speak to me, and how I would react to her in front of John,
yet I was also worried when I didn’t see her.

We had just finished dinner, and began cleaning up. John was helping clear the dishes from the table when I suddenly shivered.

As I picked up a plate, the light went out for a few seconds. I had a feeling of dread wash over me. The light came back on, and it was then that I saw her, the nasty ghost with the black dress. Startled, I
dropped the dish.

“Why are you still here? I told you to GET OUT!” She picked up a dish off the counter and threw it at me.

I had to duck to avoid being hit; and then my instincts took over. I ran out the patio door, with John following behind.

The door slammed shut; then we heard the distinct sound of the door locking.
