What Thermostat Temperature Setting Should I Use in the Summer?

In this day and age, every little bit you do to help the environment helps. Conserving energy is one of the major global concerns, and those efforts start right there in your home. But when the summer comes, many homeowners don’t give a…

It has been forever since I have done a flash giveaway. Why a flash giveaway? Because I am overcome with so much gratitude, I need to share the love. Why? Well, this morning I lost my temper with my little Grinch (it is Spirit Week at my kiddos’ school and today is Grinch day in his classroom) because in all his excitement he managed to get green face paint all over his coat, shirt, my bathroom towels, etc. (Yes babe, if you are readying this it was a horrible idea, you were right, I was wrong.) A second after my rant I felt horrible. I shouldn’t have yelled. I should have been kinder and more compassionate. Sure, I could have made excuses, I hadn’t had my coffee, I was exhausted, etc. but those are just that, excuses! I had to own up to my mistake, apologize, and ask forgiveness. He is such an amazing kid, he forgave me right away and acted as if it had never happened, he didn’t punish me with the silent treatment or any other adolescent display of protest. This got me thinking of the million, possibly billion, times I have been in the wrong and how fortunate and blessed I am to have such amazing people in my life who forgive, love, and continue to show their compassion toward me.

Today thank someone who forgave you, forgiveness isn’t easily, and sometimes we take those for granted who forgive so freely. Likewise, are you holding a grudge or withholding forgiveness to someone? Forgiveness is hard; it means you have to expose that wound again, allow yourself to become vulnerable.

Flash Giveaway!

This is your opportunity to thank and/or forgive that special person in your life. Simply comment below, you can go into as much depth as you wish, you can be general, or feel free to make it personal and then share this post on that person’s FB page. Everyone who comments is entered. Winner will be randomly selected this evening @ 11pm!!

What are you entering to win? It is a surprise! Hint: Lunch Date (fyi, monetary value is less than $20)
