Life Changes I Wish I’d Made Sooner

By the time I turned 25, I was sure my life was a single-lane highway.

What is it about women- Is it their clothing? Makeup? Personality?

Over the years, there have been many misconceptions about women- stereotypes, to be exact. You may be familiar with some- a woman’s place is in the home cooking, cleaning and taking care of the family, while the man is at work making the money.

While these stereotypes still play a prominent role in society, women are now more powerful than ever before.

Case-in-point, Sara Blakely- she founded Spanx, which is currently worth more than a billion dollars, after experimenting with pantyhose in her home at just 27 years old. She took a chance. She knew she had plenty to lose. Did that stop her? Nope. And so, after cutting the feet off of panty hose, she had created what would be a multi-million dollar company that would help women all over the world.

She began by putting her life-savings, of $5000, into production deals. After being endorsed by a company, she took the initiative to design a logo and market the company. She took all of this upon herself, and even ran the business from home. The rest is now history- she followed her heart and ended up with outstanding results.

Her passion and desire to create slimming and comfortable undergarments for women pushed her to put aside any thoughts about failure, and persuaded her to make a difference in society.

This comes to show that despite all the misconceptions about women from years ago to this day, there have been dreams made into reality. Having dreams and goals should push women to do more with their lives, even if it means putting everything you have to lose to the test.  Who knows- your next idea may start off with something as simple as panty hose.
