When I was a child, I absolutely loved to swim.
My parents would have to beg me to get out of the water.
My children are the same.
So, when I suggested we go swimming today, they all got super excited.
What I especially like about swimming is not only is it fun, but it's such great exercise for the kids!
"According to KidsFitnessCentral.com, swimming promotes good health, increases endurance and develops stamina. The long-term benefits of swimming, according to
New-Fitness.com, include improving the cardiovascular system by
allowing the heart to work less strenuously through more efficient ways
using the body's oxygen."
The only drawback is it takes so much planning!!!
I am now running around getting everything together for today (sunscreen, towels, hats, floatation devices, goggles, sandwiches, drinks, tshirts,
diapers, money for ice cream, coloring books, etc....)
What did I get myself into?
Two of my kids are following me around as I pack.
My littlest one is going to be taking swimming lessons for the first time.
He's running around, screaming "water water!"
And, my daughter is modeling all her bathing suits for me.
She's a bit of a fashionista.
I am really stumped as to where she gets this from.
Certainly not from me.
I'm a t-shirts and jogging pants kind of girl.
Here's a printable coloring page.
Reminds me of my daughter!
Well, I'm off to the pool.
I've got my wine cooler and aspirin waiting for me, for when I return!
Hope the weather is perfect where you are, and you and your child have a chance to go out, get active and enjoy it.
