Grapevine Sea Life Aquarium and Lego Land Vacation

I said in an old post that my family was going to start taking more mini vacations and that's exactly what we did this week! We took a trip to Grapevine Tx and visited the Sea Life Aquarium and Lego Land Discovery Center.  It was a good little trip that was enjoyable for us parents as well as our 3 year old. (I'm guessing our 5 month old had fun too).

Out of the two I would have to say that my favorite was the Aquarium. When we got there I was thinking it was going to be your average experience looking at fish, but it was so much more! They had little windows for the children to see the fish and actually feel like you were in the tanks with them. Also they had new things that we had never seen. Different types of sharks and fish and a 360° underwater tank! (that was the coolest part)

Sea Life Grapevine TexasLego Land Discovery Center was also a very interesting place. The time and effort that we put into putting our sons legos together seems like nothing now. These people put together major parts of Dallas as well as a life size version of Dirk Nowitzki. A great experience for our little boy because he is so into legos right now. They also have a major play area that was well secured (never know where the crazies are) and an awesome toy store. I think my husband and I were just as excited to look at everything as our son was. Not to mention the prices where actually better there then any Toys R Us or Target. How often does that happen?

Isn't that some awesome looking stuff!? This was a great quick trip and by quick I mean super quick. We drove there on Sunday and spent the night. The plans were to spend the night Monday as well but with the ice storm coming we decided to be safe and drive back home Monday evening. (It's a 5 hour drive) So it was a little quicker than we wanted but so worth it.

I would love to go back again and take a day to go through the mall. They had every store you could think of and each one had great sales going on! It was like a little piece of Heaven!

This is a place that I would definitely recommend bringing the family. You won't be disappointed!
