Happy Mid-Autumn Day or Choong Chau Chit (in Cantonese) and as Malaysians, we call it "8th month 15 day!" ... in other words... also called Happy Mooncake...

My mum called us siblings to have dinner in her house
more or less a "gathering" or "reunion" not so much as
to celebrate the Mooncake day ....
no more prayers offered and also no lanterns
cos everyone has outgrown the age of playing candles as well..

So what did we have for dinner?

all theeessssssssseee.....
it has been some time since we have something like these dishes at home...

steamed kampung chicken.. A Must-Have dish!

fried "nam yue" chicken for the younger generation....

braised mushrooms and sea cucumber for the older generation...
hahahaha....

love the sea cucumbers....

stir fried sengkuang...
unfortunately I didn't manage to get some Lettuce to go with this..
Sayang!!

our all time favourite dish!
steamed yam with 3 layers pork....
gosh..the yam was so "yammy!!"
Best!

last and not least... lotus soup ... so sweet!
