Symptoms to Take Notice of in Children

The NHS has been facing ever-increasing pressures in recent years, with slashed budgets, staff shortages and lack of resources taking its toll on the quality of care. One of the many ways we commonly see the impact of these pressures is in waiting times for GP…

Mother of the Bride Guide

The day you’ve dreamed of for years has finally arrived! Your little girl is all grown up and has chosen a partner to start her life with, and you are officially a MoB -- Mother of the Bride! While congratulatory remarks are appropriate at this juncture, so are a few…

How to Through A Larger Than Life Small Wedding on a Budget

This one is as simple as crowdfunding your honeymoon. It might sound strange at first, but do you really need another blender or set of dinner plates? Instead of having your guests purchase a bunch of things you’ll end up trying to return anyway, why not let them chip in for…

First let me share with you some of my favorite Christmas songs. If you read this from my actual site, just turn the volume up if you want to enjoy my gift to you ... or down if you need silence! I love the music at this time of year. The old stuff brings me back to innocent (and not so innocent) days of my past and the newer ones are forming memories for my kids. Just love it.

Anyway, in my exhaustion of the past week I forgot to mention in my last post that Julia has an appointment tomorrow morning with her oncologist. We will see then how her labs are and hopefully will have peace of mind regarding her longterm health. You think I would know by now NOT to search the internet for symptoms and then read everything I find. Recurrent ear infections and relapsed leukemia are not a good mix to Dr. Google! She is feeling a bit better today with no fevers over 99.9, so we'll take that and run with it! I will keep you all posted after tomorrow's results. Thank you so much for keeping in touch and letting me know you still think about my daughter and her battle.

Speaking of "running with it" ... I am trying to find some virtual or real friends who want to get a head start on the New Year. I am in desperate need of fitness and finding an outlet for my stress that doesn't involve yelling at my family or bitching about the world! So I am trying to transform from a couch slug to a sometimes runner. I am following a program called "From Couch Potato to 5K", or should honestly say, I PLAN to start that program. I just need to put down the chips, the remote and the computer and get my sneakers on. I thought someone would like to join me in planning a 5K in the future and then run it with me. I need someone else out there to feel the urge and want to do this ... friendship is great, but honestly, I need someone to keep me honest! I will do the same for all of you! :) Just an idea! I will keep you all posted on the progress in this venture too! By the way, if you don't want me to share your progress but still want to be my partner/coach/cheerleader that's okay too!

Okay, so there you have it! Christmas music to all of you from me. Updated information about Julia and my "On the Verge Of a Nervous Breakdown" status and finally an invitation to join me, even virtually, on my salvation from the afore mentioned breakdown. Feel free to comment and thanks again for keeping me sane ... most days!!!

Peace,

K
