8 Ways to Make Food Shopping as a Parent More Bearable

Hope in Heels – A Gala To Benefit Dress for Success of Winston-Salem

I was honored when a couple of my favorite local bloggers reached out to me this Fall and asked if I wanted to help them organize a GALA! for our local Dress for Success. A ball?! Last time I got that gussied up was for my wedding in Vegas! So now I get the chance to get the Rooster in a suit and help out Kelly over at Southern Fried Children and Katie and Rachel of Triad Moms on Main. If nothing else, the planning will be a hoot.

Dress for Success is one of my favorite organizations and our local affiliate is run by a very delightful lady named Glynis. Glynis is quick to point out that they don’t offer “hand outs” but rather “hand ups”. Their sole purpose is to help women get the tools they need to feel better about themselves, get a job and succeed at their new job and their new life. Not only am I supporting this organization thru the Hope in Heels gala but my Professional Women of Winston-Salem selected Dress for Success as one of our not-for-profits to support through out the year!

So what will the evening entail? We’ll be at the beautiful, historic Millennium Center in downtown Winston feasting on amazing food and mingling with a bunch of really cool people. There will be cocktails and a silent auction where all the proceeds will go to Dress for Success. How’s that for a fun date night? Good food, good times, good company and a chance to make a HUGE difference in someone’s life.

Tickets are available now but if you want the early bird rate, you need to hurry. Tickets for couples are only $100 and $50 for singles until January 1st. After the 1st, they’ll be $125 and $65  respectively.

One last thing.. if you’re a business that would like to donate an item for the silent auction we’d love that! Shoot Kelly an email and tell her what you have! We’re not too picky but if you have cool stuff that would raise a lot of money, that would be awesome.

Look forward to seeing a lot of my local peeps on March 24th!!
