We ditched most of our kitchen stuff before we moved to Mexico, and have been eating off of mismatched plates and drinking out of plastic cups since we got back. A year ago. I know, the horror, right?

So yesterday, I decided to drag the kids to IKEA and pick-up some basic white plates and other random stuff. Since I’ve lost my grip at IKEA before and have ended up with a trunk full of EKBY GRUVAN shelves [which never made it out of the box, and eventually were donated to Goodwill] I decided to make a list. Whatever was on my list going in would be the only things in my cart going out.

When I think about all the money I’ve frittered away at IKEA...money that could have saved, and invested, and then lost, well it sickens me. I could have been shaking my fist at the market instead of a half dozen BORRBY lanterns.
