I LOVE Oprah and always will, but I gotta admit I was one of those wondering why the hell did she decide to interview the Kardashians of all people. I mean, honestly, there was nothing else we really needed to know about them because they do have their own reality show that has been running seven seasons strong, and Kim is always keeping herself and family relevant by being in the media dating everybody and their damn daddy. Not to mention all the CHEESY videos they release for our entertainment. **being sarcastic**
Since Oprah decided to retire from her talk show, there have been so many rumors circulating about how she's desperate for ratings and since the Kardashians are the most talked about family, I'm sure this will definitely give her a boost. So, exactly why did she choose the Kardashians of all families??? Oprah took it to Facebook to respond to answer the million dollar question that all inquiring minds, including me, wanted to know!!!
“OK, my friends, I had the longest interviewing session I can ever recall, talking to ALLLLLLLL the Kardashians,” wrote Oprah. “I had never met them, nor seen the show. I did a full on Kardashian Kram in preparation, watching major shows from every season. I genuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon? Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them?” ”GOT IT” … those answers +more,” she added.” Those of you who watch the show know they hold nothing back. This interview I’d say was another level of forthrightness and honesty. Who surprised me the most? Scott. Lamar and Khloe. Kim.”
Oprah also added that Kim, the Kardashian who put them all on the map with her sextape with Ray J, responded to the question about her short-lived, 72-day marriage.
"Everyone who's asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days? Her answer leveled me."
Whether you hate them or love them, the Kardashians are one of THE hottest families on the scene right now. They're always in your face and keep themselves relevant through their show, media and Kim's week long relationships. No matter how they climbed to the top, literally, they are on top right now and doesn't look like they'll be going any where any time. Hell, we've all got secrets they're just not aired publicly for the entire world to see. This actually might have been a good move on Oprah's part.
So why have the Kardashians become such a cultural phenomenon??? Find out when you watch them on "Oprah's Next Chapter" which will air on Sunday, June 17 at 8/7 central time.
Will you be watching???
