Baby Showers: The Next Big Thing

Like so many modern celebrations, Baby Showers have arrived in the UK from North America. It’s a real tradition over there and, like High School Proms, Halloween and Black Friday, one of those exciting social events that is catching on big time over here.

The idea is simple but universally appealing. Throw a party for the pregnant mother and her…

OUR DAILY PINS

Classes have ended, children are now on vacation, some are having their graduations, recognitons.....it means only one thing: IT'S SUMMER TIME!!

Well, at least here in the Philippines, that is. I know most of you all are celebrating Spring season which we don't have here. W e just have 2 seasons here: Summer and Rainy seasons.

Why so happy? Because it's the time of the year wherein we can all go on vacationing to other provinces, go out and have fun swimming in the beach or pool resorts, and eating summer foods!!

Have anyone of you ever tried filipino's fave "HALO-HALO" (in english, mix-mix)?

It's a combination of different ingredients (mostly sweet) such as sweet corns, sweetened bananas, sagos and root crops like sweet potato, yam, etc. And it is put on a tall glass covered with shaved ice, then drizzled with lots of milk, mostly evaporated milk (some use coconut milk) and then topped with LECHE FLAN, scoops of ice cream, and pinipig (puffed rice). Then, as the term "halo-halo" goes, you mix-mix all of these together before eating it!! Mmmmmm....Yum! Yum! Yum!

This is what a halo-halo looks like in one of the restaurants here called CHOWKING.

So, if ever you are here in the Philippines and it's summer time here, give yourself a nice treat of this yummy, super cooler HALO-HALO!!
