“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.” - Jorge Luis Borges
I love books.
I have since I was a little girl.
One of my fondest memories was going to the library with my father.
He would follow my around as I would pull books off the shelf and hand them to him.
He would then lay the books on a table in front of me and I would go
through them all, trying to pick the best books out of the lot.
This took me awhile.
But, he was patient.
He would sit there, on a little tiny blue chair, and listen to me as I reasoned out my choices.
The library allowed us to take up to 6 books at one time.
And, I always took the maximum.
Fast forward a couple of years.
I'm now in elementary school.
In our school library, I discover many great books.
But, there is one book in particular that magically transports me to another world.
It is The Lion, the Witch, And the Wardrobe
by C.S. Lewis
My love of reading is solidified.
Which book(s) did it for you?
Till this day, there is nothing I like better then spending an entire afternoon engrossed in a good novel.
My love of reading from an early age sharpened my vocabulary skills, my spelling, my memory and my writing.
I have children now.
And, it is very important to me that I pass this on to them - that I instill in them a love of reading.
I love to read to them.
I probably started reading to them from the moment they were born, maybe even before!
It is some of the best quality time ever.
I especially love to take them to the library.
It's actually one of the highlights of my day - taking them to library and helping them select their books.
For my children going to the library is a real treat.
They get really giddy whenever we go.
So, while we're on the topic, here's a really cute children's song about going to the library.
