“Life will never be the same” and other things that didn’t make sense until now.

Things I heard a lot but didn’t understand before I had Thomas and now I repeat to other moms with younger babies (because I’m soooooo experienced now):

  • You don’t know how you can love something as much until you have a baby.
  • You’ll be exhausted, but it’s all worth it.
  • Every day is more & more fun.
  • Everything changes when they start crawling.

What no one explains about the crawling stage: the “everything” isn’t just the moving… it is everything. Since last Wednesday, the day he learned to crawl forward, Thomas’s bedtime changed from 7 to 8. That day. He’s too busy for bed. He also wants to flip around and try to crawl on the changing table, making changing diapers a very hectic task, especially if there is a you-know-what kind of diaper. Changing clothes really requires two people, one to hold him and the other to maneuver pants on his legs while he’s kicking in the air. Read more >
