I'm a Mom of grown children. Some of them I gave birth to, some of them blended in later. I would love to have a good relationship with every single one of them, every single chance. But it isn't that easy.

So what I would like to know is what your friend would tell her Mother if there was no chance of anger, drama or hurt feelings. We all talk about our Moms - it's the nature of our friendships. What have you heard that keeps the loving relationship from being easy?

I'll start.

I have a friend who's Mother is a control freak. Commands attention over every topic and insists that her way is the right way and there should be no further discussion needed. My friend would love to be able to include her Mom in the circle of people she discusses things with, but she can't. Her Mom gets angry and berates her if she asks for an opinion and then does it differently in the end.

Now please share the Mom stories you've heard. I want to learn what not to do. Please.
